Partnership in the field of health
We regularly collaborate with postpartum health professionals, school nurses and CLSCs. Would you like to have samples to educate women on the options available to them? Let us know how we can collaborate.
ORA protections
Here for you, no matter your menstrual protection
We have a secret to tell you: You're the only person who knows what the best type of menstrual protection is for you. We're not going to tell you what to do, even if we sell panties!
If you've come to our site, it may be because you're unhappy with your current menstrual protection. We are not here to sell you a dream, we are here to inform you that if things are not going well with your current protection, we have developed a solution that is more economical, more ecological and more comfortable.
The important thing for us is to give you the information to make the best choice. Do you prefer the menstrual cup? We raise our glass of wine to you! Do you want to continue using tampons or pads? Good! And if you choose menstrual panties, we want to give you access to panties that fit your budget and are available in your size. The only thing worse than having your period is being told what to do with it!
In Madagascar, where I grew up, menstruation is a taboo subject. We don't talk about the cycle, hormones and even less about menstrual protection options. Before arriving in Quebec in 2012 and launching Ora Protections in 2021, I didn't know that the tampons and sanitary napkins I used every month could contain toxic materials that are harmful to the vaginal flora.
It was after the birth of my third child, tired of disrupting my little sleep to change protections, that I decided to find out more about this.
Talking to other women around me, I realized that many of us were poorly informed, or had never asked ourselves any questions. I realized that I had lacked education about my health. That's why I decided to make women's health my main mission.
Values
We've gone through a fine-tooth comb through our products and packaging to make them as eco-friendly as possible. We use tencel, recycled nylon, organic cotton and bamboo. None of the fabrics contain PFAS, which are harmful to your health and the planet. Our packaging has been reduced to a minimum and contains no plastic.
Above all, we want you to feel good and experience your period as comfortably as possible. That's why we don't judge other types of menstrual protection. That's also why we offer you a refund if you don't like your first menstrual panty. Check out our policy for details. If you encounter a problem with our products, we'll be there to listen to you and accommodate you as best we can.
Our panties are designed for anyone who has periods. All our panties models are available from XS to 4XL.
For us, keeping our prices as affordable as possible without compromising on quality and reliability is also a step towards greater inclusivity.
We have nothing to hide. We take the greatest care with our size guides and product sheets so that you have no surprises. The composition of the fabrics and the place of manufacture are clearly displayed on our products.
All of our panties are designed here in Quebec, but they are sewn in China. Manufacturing our panties locally is one of our goals, but we have not yet managed to find the perfect match to accommodate our production volume and keep our costs as affordable as possible. Between local and accessibility, we have chosen (for now) accessibility.
