Yes! Our warehouse is located in Lavaltrie, and each product is carefully inspected before delivery. We deliver directly to your home.
Our underwear is fabricated in China. Our manufacturer is audited every year by SGS Group, a global pioneer in the inspection, verification, and certification of companies in order for them to adhere and follow international ethics and environmental standards. Some of SGS Group’s other clients include Best Buy, Haier, Canon, and Home Depot.
Moving production of our underwear to Quebec is an option we’re constantly evaluating and is part of our vision. After in depth analysis of all the factors that come into play, it’s clear that the workforce, expertise, and large-scale production are still lacking in the market.
In the current situation, Quebec production would not be able to satisfy demand and the products wouldn’t be as easily accessible to our customers (they retail for about 60$ for one pair of underwear, and with good reason!). We’re so proud of the few businesses that manufacture their products here and are able to offer consumers more choices.
The mission that drives Ora Protections everyday is to make it as easy as possible for women to have access to period underwear, and that’s why we made the choice to manufacture our products overseas. It was a conscious, informed, and responsible decision we didn’t make lightly.
Our suppliers are carefully selected for product quality, working conditions, and ethics. Our products are tested to guarantee that you receive a high-quality product that works. We offer personalized assistance and support at all times.
At Ora Protections, our period underwear is composed of 4 layers: 3 textile layers and a waterproof layer. The waterproof layer prevents blood from passing through the panties and staining your clothes. They allow absorption of up to 40 mL or 12 hours of protection, depending on your flow. Air circulates through the 4 layers which allows the vulva to breathe. The air circulation also controls moisture to prevent odors and the spread of harmful bacteria.
Absolutely. They are designed to replace disposable sanitary products.
Make sure you know your flow to determine the ideal length of time you should wear each pair before changing.
For your first use, we recommend you test the underwear at home. This will allow you to determine how long your underwear remains 100% absorbent for. The more absorbent the underwear, the longer you can wear them, which on average, is between 6 to 12 hours.
1 to 3 times a day. If your flow is heavy, you will need to change underwear more often. To reduce the frequency of changes, get our high-absorption underwear (the equivalent of 6 to 8 tampons) that offers up to 12 hours of protection.
Yes. Opt for our high-absorption underwear for heavy flows (the equivalent of 6 to 8 tampons).
Tip: Combine our period underwear with a washable pad. Once the washable pad is full, simply remove it and the period underwear will take over.
Yes. Unlike disposable sanitary pads and tampons made of chemicals, Ora Protections period underwear doesn’t negatively affect the vaginal flora. On top of that, the absorption technology prevents moisture and protects you against yeast infections and harmful bacteria.
The key is to pick the underwear that best fits your lifestyle. To make sure you make the right choice, think about your daily activities. Are you active? Pick a pair that offers good support. Do you have sensitive skin? Opt for natural fibers.
The most important question you need to ask yourself is what type of flow you have. Each style of period underwear has a different absorption capacity. If your flow is abundant, pick a pair with high absorbency (up to 8 tampons). Knowing your flow is a must; usually the first few days are more abundant than the rest of your period, so it’s normal to choose different styles and use them accordingly. Our customers usually buy an average of 3 to 6 period underwear that last them throughout their entire cycle.
Our washable pads have the same characteristics as our period underwear. The only difference between the two products is the outer layer. The layer in contact with the vulva is made of bamboo charcoal, known for its highly absorbent capacities as well as it’s ecological properties.
Rinse with cold water until the water runs clear. Wash by hand or machine wash at a low temperature with a delicate soap. Consider our stain remover soap, available on our website.
Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Air dry only.
For best results and durability, use our wash bag also available on our website.
Our period underwear has an average lifespan of 300 washes, which is more than 3 years. To ensure that they last a long time, avoid using greasy soap and/or glycerin-containing soap. Do not bleach, use a washing net, and dry flat.
